FAQ

WHAT IS IMPORTANT WHEN BUYING A NEW PAIR OF SPECTACLES?

Although eyeglass lenses look unimpressive, they are true all-rounders. First and foremost, they should help you see better again – that goes without saying. However, high-quality brand lenses also offer distinct added value: from appealing aesthetics, easy care, and durability to comfort features such as light-adaptive lenses.

SINGLE VISION OR PROGRESSIVE LENSES – WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

The difference lies mainly in the individual visual zones. Near or distance vision: single vision glasses.

Single vision lenses correct vision for either near or far distances. Near and distance vision: progressive glasses.

As we age, our eyes increasingly lose the ability to accommodate, i.e. to focus on near and very close distances. This is an entirely natural process. Progressive lenses, also known as varifocals, can be a solution for you. They provide clear vision at near, intermediate, and far distances. Premium quality brand progressive lenses make vision comfortable at any distance with smooth transition from distance to near zones.

WHAT MAKES A PROGRESSIVE LENS GOOD?

You may wear your progressive spectacles up to 24 hours a day. So don’t compromise and rely on brand lenses.

Progressive lenses are divided into three zones: close visual range up to approx. 60 cm, intermediate range for viewing distances between approx. 60 cm to approx. 5 metres, and far range for viewing distances of approx. 5 metres and above The higher the quality, the wider the near and intermediate vision zones and the more natural your vision. Our best progressive lens, for example, adapts perfectly to you – your posture, your handedness, your visual habits and much more.

CAN I INFLUENCE THE ATTRACTIVENESS OF MY LENSES?

Yes, you can. With increasing power, standard lenses become thicker and look less appealing. By using a suitable lens material and an intelligent calculation method, we can make your lenses as thin as possible. Choosing an additional coating, will reduce the natural residual reflections on the lens surface. Normally, the lenses come with a slightly greenish residual reflection. Our "Nanoperl S UV Purlux" coating ensures ultimate aesthetics without any residual colour reflections. Something you should take into account when choosing a coloured spectacle frame.

DO I NEED A PAIR OF COMPUTER GLASSES?

Especially if you wear progressive spectacles, glasses for the near and intermediate range are an ideal addition. The lenses are specifically designed for close-up work as well as for looking into the room. Depending on your requirements, the glasses offer pleasant vision, e.g. at shorter viewing distances such as when looking at a computer screen or when cooking and doing handicrafts.

There are different solutions for viewing at close and room distance, allowing you to benefit from an ergonomic, natural posture and pleasantly sharp vision.

CAN I USE ONE PAIR OF GLASSES FOR ALL SITUATIONS, FOR EXAMPLE ALSO FOR SPORTS?

Think about your selection of shoes. You have the right shoe for every occasion. It's the same with glasses. Our eyes have to master numerous visual tasks that pose different challenges on them. When using a smartphone, for example, your eyes must adapt differently to the screen than when driving a car or doing sport. Especially in sports, sports glasses with corrective lenses should be a key element of your gear. The special shape of the glasses protects your eyes from wind, dirt and UV rays.
